Monday, May 29th marks the first of several busy days ahead for the members of the Centre for the Study of Social and Legal Responses to Violence (CSSLRV), who are participating at the 52nd annual meeting of the Canadian Sociological Association (CSA) being held at Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario. Centre researchers Danielle Bader, Michelle Carrigan, Yvonne Daoleuxay, Tina Hotton, Anna Johnson, Danielle Sutton, and Jessica Whitehead in addition to Centre Director Myrna Dawson will be presenting research at the meeting. Daoleuxay is a Master’s student, and Bader, Sutton, and Hotton are PhD students, all in the Department of Sociology at the University of Guelph, while Johnson and Carrigan are CSSLRV research assistants and Whitehead is a Research Associate. Findings from various projects will be presented, including criminal justice responses to crime for intimate partner homicide, same-sex intimate partner violence, filicide, elderly female homicide, vulnerable victims, and comparing family violence legislation across Canada.
