Cahill awarded Blacklock Scholarship

Sarah Cahill, a second year PhD student in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, is the newest recipient of the Wilda M. Blacklock Scholarship. The scholarship was created in honour of the retirement of Wilda Blacklock, a former student (BA 1973) and staff member in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology. Sarah received this award due to her academic excellence and her contributions to the department. Sarah has been a co-chair of the Sociology and Anthropology Engage Conference for the past two years and has represented her classmates on various department and athletic committees. The scholarship will help to further her research in feminist criminology and in understanding criminal court decision-making. Sarah is a research assistant at the Centre for the Study of Social and Legal Responses to Violence working with Dr. Myrna Dawson.
